Beaufort Yacht Basin

Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence Update #4 - Wednesday 9/19

MARINA IS OPEN!

We are happy to report that Beaufort Yacht Basin is open and ready for your return. Please note that we still do not have power available on the docks. We anticipate that power restoration to B dock will take longer than A dock due to damage to B dock. Other services may also be limited.

BE AWARE that navigating in area waterways including the marina can be hazardous especially after a storm. Be on the lookout for debris, missing or out-of-place aids to navigation, and shifted shoaling. We have had divers investigate each slip for debris, but we cannot guarantee your personal safety or the safety of your vessel. Please maneuver your vessel with extreme caution as there still could be undiscovered debris in and around the marina.

In the coming days and weeks, please be patient with us as we continue to make repairs to the marina property. If you discover damage to the docks or other areas of the marina, or hazardous debris in the water, please report it to Jerry or Bobby as soon as possible.

As always, please feel free to call or email us. dockmaster@beaufortyachtbasin.com or (252) 504-3625

Thank you,

Hurricane Florence Update #3 - Saturday 9/15

Report from the Marina - Closed Until Further Notice

Friends,
This morning we were able to do an initial damage assessment of the marina. At first glance, we were pleased to find the marina itself in relatively good shape. We are fortunate as many of our friends, family, and neighbors around the area are not nearly as lucky.

While there is little significant visible damage to the docks, we still need time to do a more thorough inspection before allowing vessels to return. We are also aware that local authorities are restricting access to Carteret County, and municipalities here are enforcing a mandatory 24/7 curfew. For these reasons, we have no choice but to close the marina until further notice.

In the coming days, we will continue to assess the damage, and listen to local authorities. As the situation allows, we will be able to provide a better time estimate for re-opening the marina and allowing folks to return. For your convenience, we promise to reopen as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience. Please be aware that we have no power and extremely limited internet in most of Carteret County. If you need to contact us, you can try to call or email the office: (252) 504-3625 or dockmaster@beaufortyachtbasin.com.

Thank you,

Hurricane Florence Update #2 - Monday 9/10

MANDATORY EVACUATION

We are issuing an immediate mandatory evacuation of Beaufort Yacht Basin. Please remove your vessel from the marina immediately. ALL VESSELS MUST BE REMOVED FROM BEAUFORT YACHT BASIN BY NOON ON WEDNESDAY. Absolutely NO VESSELS will be allowed to remain in the marina beyond noon on Wednesday 9/12.

We understand that this may be an inconvenience, but your personal safety, the safety of your property, and the safety of the marina property is paramount. Carteret County Emergency Services has issued a state of emergency for Carteret County effective 6pm Sunday evening, and Governor Cooper has done the same for the state of North Carolina. We feel that this is the right decision given the information we currently have available. We are closely monitoring the forecast and will continue our efforts to make sure everybody is informed and well prepared.

As always, please feel free to call or email us. dockmaster@beaufortyachtbasin.com or (252) 504-3625 if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Hurricane Florence Update #1 - Friday 9/7

Please Be Prepared!

If you have not already done so, please make plans now to remove your boat from the marina, in case we issue an evacuation order sometime next week. We hope we won't have to, but please be ready to take immediate action in case a mandatory evacuation of the marina is necessary.
