Beaufort Yacht Basin

Hurricane Idalia

Update #1 - Wednesday 8/30

Please Be Prepared

As of Wednesday morning, Beaufort is under a Tropical Storm warning. Hurricane Idalia is forecasted to make landfall on the Florida coast and make it's way across Georgia and the Carolinas. Idalia is forecasted to be a tropical storm by the time it reaches coastal North Carolina. Please prepare your vessel by doubling lines, deploying fenders, removing items from the docks and decks. Prepare for a large amount of rain by checking scuppers and bilge pumps. Other preparations may be necessary depending on your particular vessel or slip.

According to the terms of your lease agreement, at all times, regardless of an evacuation order or advance notice, you are responsible for any damage to docks and marina property as a result of your vessel occupying your slip.

Please monitor the storm and forecasts from the National Hurricane Center here: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

REMEMBER: According to the terms of your lease agreement with us, marina staff may force a MANDATORY evacuation of ALL VESSELS in the marina. At that time, you are required to remove your vessels from Beaufort Yacht Basin. Failure to remove your vessel in time will result in staff removing it at your expense and at your risk.

Most of you have filled out the hurricane plan form, or otherwise informed us of your storm preparation plans. If you have not, please fill out your hurricane plan form online: https://www.beaufortyachtbasin.com/tenants/vessel-hurricane-plan or stop by the office to fill out your form.

As always, please feel free to call or email us. dockmaster@beaufortyachtbasin.com or (252) 504-3625

Thank you,
