Marina Open! Welcome Back!

Marina staff has evaluated the condition of the marina, begun minor repairs, and has determined that Beaufort Yacht Basin can be be reopened following Dorian, effective immediately. Despite our best efforts, we of course cannot guarantee your safety or the safety of your property at any time, but especially after a storm. Please navigate waterways including within the marina with extra caution. Beware of missing aids to navigation, shifted sandbars, and debris.

Please note that not all services at the marina may be available immediately. Staff is still working on repairs. Please immediately notify staff of any hazards or damage to marina property.

Update #4 - Friday 9/6

Marina Closed Until Further Notice

As per our last update, Beaufort Yacht Basin will be closed until marina staff can safely and thoroughly evaluate the condition of the docks and waterways. No boats will be allowed back into the marina until further notice. Do not try to bring your boat back to Beaufort Yacht Basin.

Marina staff will evaluate the condition of the marina and make any repairs as soon as possible. Ideally, by this time tomorrow (Saturday) we can provide another update on reopening.

As per your Dockage Agreement with us, please remember the following: "It is the Lessee’s responsibility to insure that the Vessel is at all times operable under its own power. Failure to maintain the Vessel in an operational condition shall be cause for termination of this Agreement by Marina." and "Lessee shall maintain the appearance of the Vessel in a clean and sanitary condition at all times."

Update #3 - Monday 9/2

Mandatory Evacuation

After carefully reviewing the 11am advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Beaufort Yacht Basin staff has no choice but to issue a MANDATORY EVACUATION OF THE MARINA. ALL VESSELS MUST BE REMOVED BY 10am WEDNESDAY 9/4. There will be no exceptions.

Please be sure to take ALL of your belongings with you including hoses, cords, dinghys, dock lines, etc. we cannot guarantee that your belongings will be returned to you after the storm.

Following the storm, Beaufort Yacht Basin will be closed until marina staff can safely and thoroughly evaluate the condition of the docks and waterways. No boats will be allowed back into the marina until further notice.

REMEMBER: According to the terms of your lease agreement with us, marina staff may force a MANDATORY evacuation of ALL VESSELS in the marina. At that time, you are required to remove your vessels from Beaufort Yacht Basin. Failure to remove your vessel will result in staff removing it at your expense and at your risk.

Most of you have filled out the hurricane plan form, or otherwise informed us of your storm preparation plans. If you have not, please fill out your hurricane plan form online or stop by the office to fill out your form.

Update #2 - Sunday 9/1

Prepare for an Evacuation

As of Sunday afternoon, the forecast track for Hurricane Dorian has shifted towards the North Carolina coast. Effects of the storm could arrive in Beaufort by Wednesday or Thursday.

Beaufort Yacht Basin staff will make a determination by NOON MONDAY on whether to issue a mandatory evacuation of the marina ahead of Hurricane Dorian. Please plan NOW to remove your vessel in case of a mandatory marina evacuation.

REMEMBER: According to the terms of your lease agreement with us, marina staff may force a MANDATORY evacuation of ALL VESSELS in the marina. Update #1 - Friday 8/30

Please Be Prepared!

As of Friday morning, the forecast for Hurricane Dorian is focused on Florida and Georgia, but effects of the storm may be be felt here in Beaufort next week. Currently, the long term forecast is uncertain. Please take this time to ensure that your vessel is properly secured in your slip, trailer, or otherwise. Please check your lines, fenders, bilge pumps, etc. If you need assistance securing your vessel, please call the marina office at (252) 504-3625.

At this time, the forecast does not call for conditions that would warrant an evacuation of the marina but the forecast can change abruptly! Please still be aware of the storm and monitor the forecasts from the National Hurricane Center here: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov
